Ranch Fun Kid's Program
The Bar Lazy J Guest Ranch Fun Kid's Program provides nonstop activities and is included as part of your all-inclusive vacation package. Our Ranch Fun Kid's Program is flexible and designed to meet the needs of children in various age groups so that they are kept safe, busy, and entertained on their vacation!
The Ranch Fun Kid's Program is available everyday from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
and 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. And, our counselors will have lunch with those children
whose parents wish to leave the dude ranch for the day.
Our Ranch Fun Kid's Program is divided into two age groups:
Lil’ Buckaroos
Age 3 – 6 are led on horseback in our arena.
Range Riders
Age 7 – 12 are assigned a horse for the week and trail ride daily with the children’s wranglers.
Our well-qualified counselors (all are trained in pool safety and hold current First Aid and CPR certificates) and wranglers lead fun-filled activities for children, which include:
- Horseback Riding
- Treasure Hunts
- Outdoor Games
(i.e. capture the flag, frisbee football, etc.) - Educational Nature Walk
- Feeding Baby Animals
- Arts & Crafts
- Swimming
- Fishing
- Hiking
Interaction and education is emphasized on our guest ranch, so each year we adopt a couple of calves, which the kids help bottle-feed. During the week, your kids will help take care of our kids: burros, kittens, goats, sheep, baby horses, and our new miniature donkey, Mugs. During the Gymkhana on Saturday afternoon, your kids will participate in games and show off their horse skills that they learned during their vacation.
We also have a number of specials events throughout the week:
- Thursday 7 p.m.
Buckaroo & Range Rider Pow Wow leaves on the hay wagon - Friday 6 p.m.
Pizza on River Porch during All Adult Dinner - Saturday 2:15 p.m.
Kid’s Gymkhana in the arena. Adults are also welcome to particiate. And, don't forget your camera – these are pictures you won’t want to miss!
